Longtruk Uni. stands for Loungtruk University. The
term “Loung Truk” refers to the small, hidden gaps
between buildings—a secluded spot within the
university, much like a back-alley smoking area or an
unofficial gathering place. These spaces exist in every
society, yet the mainstream academic system chooses
to ignore them, pretending they don’t exist.
Loungtruk runs alongside Silpa Bhirasri Day, an event
that celebrates Thai academic art traditions at Silpakorn
University. In contrast, Loungtruk brings
together students and artists who create art that directly
challenges social norms, addressing issues that are often
overlooked or silenced.
